I got all of this information off of Allakhazam. I edited it and added other comments that I found on other sites too. Plus a few tidbits from personal experience and things other people have told me: (this is for Promathia missions 1-2, 1-3 which are Promythia-Dem, Holla nad Mea)

To access the Promathia mission you need the following CUT SCENES : One in Lower Delkfutt Tower, one in Upper Jeuno at the Infirmary, then Ru'Lude Gardens (G-10) to talk to Monberaux. Then you are ready.

First you must farm up the Recollections. There are 3 of them: Recollection of Fear, Guilt and Pain. You don't necessarily NEED all of them, but the more the marrier, especially for melee. You take these recollection that you have and bring them to a "blackmage" looking man named Harith in Ru'Lude Gardens. He's far in behind the palace in a little hut at position (H-5). You trade them to him alond with 2k (each one individually) and he'll give you three different Animas: Hysteroanima, Psychoanima, Terroanima. Animas are to be used as strategies against the end bosses in the Promys (more about Anima's uses in the BOSSES section)

On allakhazam, whoever wrote how to do the Promys was a little nutty. He said you needed an alliace of over 18 people, but I know that this is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I have many friends that have done it with a regular party size, its just different. Besides, once you get to the BCNM part of the Promy where the boss is, only 6 people can go in at once. Hence, alliance is only good to get to the destination, that's it. Then you have to break off and strategize.

In order to properly complete this event a good party has the following:

PARTY SET UP: (for optimal results, thus it can be different, but difference will make it dificult)

Party of 6 people as usual consisting of WAR/NIN, WAR/NIN, BLM/WHM, RNG/NIN, WHM/BLM, ANOTHER DD (SMN is nice but not necessary). Through my personal experience with ENM and from what other people have told me and what I've read, this is the combo that is a sure win. Stray too far from this setup and you start asking for trouble.

PARTY ITEMS:Make sure that everyone has the best level 30 gear possible, because we will all be capped at level 30. Foods are important, mages bring MP food and melee bring your favorite foods. These medicines are particularily important: Echo Drops, Poison Potions (VERY IMPORTANT), Holy Water, Eye Drops (Melee Only), and Shihei (of course for Melee). Antidote is a good idea too, but not as important as the rest. I know it seems like a lot, but if we want to win this first go these items are extremely helpful. If anyone is STONE BROKE I'm willing to help pay for some, but bare in mind that I'm not made of money lol. The last item that you will really appreciate having is a Scroll of Reraise which you can purchase from any guard in any region with your conquest points. They are cheap. Also, a word of warning is that the reraise status will be wiped once you go through the Spire to get to the boss. So, use your judgement on the use of your reraise OR bring Reraise Earrings (they are for level 24 so its perfect IF you can afford it). Hermes Quencher is a type of medicine that temporarily give you "Flee" ability, this is expensive but extremely nice to have.

Here is where the fun begins. In each of the Spires, Holla, Mea and Dem, there are 4 levels. Everytime you finish a level and move onto the next the mobs get more and more difficult. At level 1 most Mobs are Easy Prey, level 2 most are Even Match or Tough, level 3 you'll have mostly Very Tough and Incredibly Tough, level 4 is SUPER DUPER Incredibly Tough ++. (I will get into specifics for each individual Spire shortly, this is a briefing on the general structure of all of the Spires). All the mobs in the Spire are true sight mobs, meaning, even if you cast invisible on yourself the mobs will aggro you. All parties can move with ease through the first two levels, using the RNG/NIN as the tracker for finding the Memory Recepticles. Once the Ranger finds the Memory Recepticle on Widescan, the Ranger leads the way to it, everyone else follows behind. (as a side note to my LS, I've taken the liberty of printing out maps of the Spires off of for myself. Feel free to do the same it could do us some good) Though the mobs are easy, I stress that you try NOT to get aggroed. It's just quicker this way. But if it does happen on level 1 or 2 the party can easily defeat any mob.
The strategy changes on levels 3-4. This is where it becomes CRUCIAL not to get aggro at all. This is the strategy my old linkshell used to use for ENM and it we won MANY times. If you get aggroed on level 3 or 4, find a safe, "mob free" place to die away from the party, but close enough so that the WHM can raise you. If a WHM gets aggro, ONE PERSON provoke it off them and do the same as above. No one likes dying, but one person dying and getting raised is better then everyone dying and no one getting raised and everyone not being able to finish the mission. I suggest that you get a buffer of exp so that you don't delvl, but its just a suggestion. On level 4, once you find out where you need to be, (we will need to locate the Castle looking structure, and enter inside of it via a zone-line infront of it) the basic strategy is the "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE" strategy, still bare in mind that you don't want to get aggro. Just makes sure to KEEP THE WHM's SAFE!!! If a WHM gets aggroed, provoke the mob off them and run towards the finish line which is on the final floor. WHM are the only people who can raise if things go nasty. The WHM should always be the last man standing.

You need to defeat Memory Recepticles on levels 1, 2 and 3. The RNGs will locate them with Widescan and take you there. Once you get to the MRs area, kill all the Strays first (easy, two hits and they're dead) do not enguage the MR right away. Stray will pop as you are fighting the MR. Just make sure the DDs get rid of them at the same time as they are fighting the MR. The MR will cast an AoE that will blow the melee away. Make sure that your back is not facing other mobs. Just keep shadows up, its an easy fight.

BOSSES (certain parts of this are direct copy and paste from

Once inside the castle, our alliance (if we have one) can split up, your level restriction is lifted, but don't bother buffing, as all buffs will all be wiped once you enter into the final bosses lair. Wait till everyone is ready, then each group will enter into the Web of Recollections (simply inspect it) to engage the final boss.

From"The importance of Debuffs on these fights can never be stressed enough, I recommend creating a list of who will Elemental Seal + Paralyze, and in what order you will Elemental Seal + Paralyze to re-apply it when it wears off. It is my firm belief that this is the single most important debuff you can put on these bosses. Slow, Blind, Dia, Bio, Shock, Frost all come second to Paralyze.

Promyvion - Dem - Considered by many to be the easiest, it is a straight forward throw down against the big bug. He uses only single target, physical attacks, no AEs on this one. However, after about 5 minutes of engagement, he begins to spawn Offspring, which despite hitting for a decent amount, have almost no HP and can be taken out with a single Ranger WS. It is important to note that the Offspring are IMMUNE to Sleep, however you can Bind them to buy yourself more time. Once the boss is dead, all offspring despawn.

Promyvion - Holla - Now it gets hard. He will use a combination of AE Sleep, AE Blind, and AE Curse. Meelee use Poison Potions to keep yourselves awake, Holy Water and Eye Drops to remedy status effects. Once he gets to 50%, he will begin to use his HP Drain attack, which can get up to 250+ on mages, so watch your agro BLM. I recommend Mighty Strikes at 40%, Eagle Eye Shot at 30%.

Promyvion - Mea - Wow, you thought Holla sucked? This guys is ridiculous. Single Target Throat Slash WS (Drops you to 1/10 of your HP), AE Gravity, AE Medium-High Damage Physical Attack that also has a Knock-Back. You are guaranteed to poop your pants atleast once when you see your War/Nin drop to 10HP from the Throat Slash attack. Suggested strategy: Kite the mo-fo as best you can, RNG and Mages stay waay back. Burn 2Hrs as you see nessecary, as this fight can go from good, to on the verge of wipe in mere seconds. Mages burn Juices back to back, Meelee, burn Au Lauts back to back. Be smart, stay calm, and you will win.Made it this far? Congratulations! You have now completed Chapter 1 of the Chains of Promethia expansion! What do you get? Access to new zones! You will automatically be transported to Lufaise Meadows when you complete your final Promyvion event, as well as getting to see the opening cutscene for Chapter 2! Sell off all your shiney new level 30 gear, and stock up on level 40 gear! Beginning to see the pattern? I'll see you in Chapter 2! " (

Another thing I'd like to add to this chapter is the use of the ANIMAS on this boss, since it wasn't really mentioned. I've read a few posts on the topic and it seems like the most safe bet is to have at least 3 animas of each kind.

Here is what the Animas are and do:

HYSTEROANIMA: Prevents TP attacks, lasts 30 seconds, use it when the mob is at 30% life (for mea especially)
TERROANIMA: NM runs around like a chicken with its head cut off for 30 seconds and doesn't attack anybody, usually used when the mob is at 30% life, but also usefull in Holla when boss is at 50% life and does HP Drain on mages.
PSYCOANIMA: Causes mass intimidation, usually used at 30% or when things are beginning to look grim.

Side note: This is all the information I could gather. I know that its not perfect, but it is a lot :P. Once we are actually in the Promy I will provide information as it is needed. Please read this to get a good knowledge. And if you can GET YOUR ANIMAS!

Today I completed San D'Oria mission 5-1. It was fun! Fairly easy. My bro Aznmonk came along, and took a bullet for the team by dying. Thanx Aznmonk! ^_^ Posted by Picasa

Here's a cute pic of my good buddy Gien and my good NPC friend Sufhi! Aren't they so cute! This was taken a really pretty area of The Santuary of Zi'tah. I love it there. It reminds me of the scene in FF10 when Yuna and Tidus kiss. ^_^ <3 Posted by Picasa

I realize that I haven't been on in awhile, but that is because of that Nazis concentration camp that I've been attending called Fruits&Passion (ie. My job) I may be on tomorow if I force myself to wake up a little earlier then usual instead of sleeping in late. Ihave tow days off in a row on thursday and friday, and I plan to do four things on those two days: 1.) Bake Ginger Bread 2.) Sow 3.) Wrap Christmas presents 4.) Play copious amounts of videogames So hopefully, dear reader, I will see you in the game soon. Here is a picture of a flying Goblin in my absense.  Posted by Picasa
